Mina had received letters written by Jonathan when he was in Transylvania but she never read them but after this incident she decided to read them as she wanted to know the reality.

After reading all that stuff Mina understood that all those events were about blood sucking evil monsters and Jonathan had hardly saved his life.
The next morning Van Helsing came to visit Mina and he did not want to invite Jonathan in this meeting. First he apologized with Mina as he had read all the private letters of Mina and Lucy actually he wanted to know from when Lucy was infected.
When Mina came to know that Van can deal with supernatural things she told him about Jonathan’s visit in Transylvania she also gave Jonathan’s letters to him and she pleaded him to help her. She gave all the information about Lucy and she told how all this has started.
