Van was determined and strong man. He went to meet Jonathan Harker. Mina had told Jonathan about Professor Van Helsing. Van told Jonathan that all his observations were real and he is not mentally sick and all these happing were not illusions. Mina was worried about Jonathan but Jonathan assured her that after this confirmation he was feeling much better and stronger.
Jonathan told Van why count Dracula called him to his castle and his purpose was to buy a property in London in which he was successful to bought with his help. When Van heard the name of Property bought by Dracula he almost jumped from his seat because it was same Carfax which was adjacent to mental hospital where Dr. John was working. Van also told them this Dracula had killed Lucy.
Mina was very sad when he came to know Lucy’s illness truth. Van told them if he knew Dracula was living so near they could save Lucy but now nothing can be done. When Jonathan came to know the Van and his fellows have decided to Dracula he also decided to join them but he did not want Mina to know much as he did not want her to get worried. Van and Jonathan decided that next day Mina and Jonathan will come as John’s guest and they will join the group.
After meeting with Van Jonathan was feeling that he has found the purpose of his life and he was determined to end Dracula. He was not afraid of him. Van was also impressed from his bravery and how he had escaped alive from his castle. Mina was also very enthusiastic to help them she decided to rewrite and arrange also the information written in letter and diaries as a single information can be very helpful.
Van was also very impressed from Mina. He said to her that her heart was of woman but mind is of man. Next day Mina and Jonathan also joined the group and they became the guest of John. All of them heard the story of count Dracula with interest. Jonathan also told them about the fifty mysterious coffins which Dracula had brought from Transylvania.
Van understood the purpose of bringing fifty coffins from Transylvania. He explained that the are the safe houses of Dracula. If Dracula has to be destroyed these coffins must be destroyed. In these coffins there was sacred soil of Transylvania.
Mina was not informed about the real plan because it was not easy to end Dracula and she don’t want to lose Jonathan. They all decided to search Carfax property and for this they did not have any permission but they had to take the risk.
